We’re looking for our new General Manager

CAPIC is looking for a reliable, organized, and proactive freelance collaborator to support the organization’s operations, communications, and funding activities on a flexible, part-time basis.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in non-profit administration, arts organizations, communications, or grant writing who enjoys working independently and contributing to a creative community.

Role Overview

This is a key freelance role responsible for the smooth running of CAPIC’s operations and administrative systems, as well as supporting its funding and communications activities.

The position requires strong autonomy, good judgment, and the ability to manage priorities independently. You will be the main operational point of contact for the organization.

This is a flexible freelance contract of approximately 15 hours per week, with workload varying depending on project cycles and organizational needs.

Responsibilities

·      Oversee day-to-day organizational operations and non-profit administration (including annual filings, renewals, and required regulatory updates)

·      Manage internal systems, documentation, and CRM workflows

·      Handle member and partner communications in both English and French

·      Maintain and update the organization’s Squarespace website

·      Manage social media accounts and coordinate content publishing

·      Oversee bookkeeping and expense tracking using QuickBooks

·      Identify funding opportunities and prepare grant applications and reports

·      Coordinate with volunteer chapter representatives and board members

·      Support planning and execution of programming and occasional events

Ideal Candidate

·      Comfortable working in both English and French (spoken and written)

·      Is highly organized, autonomous, and solution-oriented

·      Has experience in non-profit operations, arts organizations, or similar environments

·      Is confident managing multiple responsibilities without close supervision

·      Has strong written communication skills

·      Is comfortable with tools such as Squarespace, QuickBooks, Airtable, and Mailchimp

·      Has experience or strong interest in grant writing and funding development

·      Is interested in the arts, photography, or creative industries

This role is well-suited to someone who already has experience in coordination, administration, or freelance operational work and is looking for a flexible mandate with real ownership and impact.

·      Hourly rate: $26/hour
